Image Compressor

Reduce a JPG or PNG's file size by adjusting quality, right in your browser. Pick a photo, drag the slider, download the smaller version.

Lower quality = smaller file. 60–80% is usually a good balance for photos.

How this works

The image is decoded and redrawn onto a canvas element in your browser, then re-encoded at the quality level you choose. PNGs with transparency are converted to JPEG during compression (JPEG has no transparency); to keep transparency, choose a lower max-width instead of relying on quality, or use the Image Converter tool to export as WebP, which supports both transparency and stronger compression.
